The Comox Valley Hospice Society provides support services to individuals and their families who are dealing with a terminal illness and/or the recent death of a loved one or friend. We are looking for a caring, compassionate individual with grief counselling experience to join our team.
The Bereavement Counsellor is a casual position with hours set depending on program demands and fluctuating organizational workloads. This position will report to the Program Coordinator for the Comox Valley Hospice Society
The Bereavement Counsellor provides bereavement support to clients, families, and groups. The Bereavement Counsellor collaborates with other Program staff to ensure integrated, comprehensive service delivery to the community.
The successful applicant will have a Bachelor Degree in counselling or related field (Masters preferred); with a minimum of two years grief and loss counselling experience. Experience may be considered in lieu of education. This person will have strong organizational and interpersonal skills; have a keen interest in and experience with training and supporting volunteers; and a good understanding of the philosophy of hospice palliative care and the needs of the dying, their families and the bereaved.

The Comox Valley Hospice Society provides support services to individuals and their families who are dealing with a terminal illness and/or the recent death of a loved one or friend. We are looking for a caring, compassionate individual with experience in coordinating and delivering hospice care and support, in a variety of settings, to join our team.
The Program Coordinator position is a regular part time position, 20-25 hours per week, depending on program demands and fluctuating organizational workloads. This position will report to the Executive Director for the Comox Valley Hospice Society
The Program Coordinator manages, coordinates, and oversees the hospice/palliative and bereavement client programs and services; supervises other program staff and works collaboratively with the Volunteer Coordinator to ensure integrated, comprehensive service delivery to hospice and bereavement clients.
The successful applicant will have degree in health care or counselling, (Masters preferred) with at least two years experience with hospice/palliative care coordination and/or grief and loss counselling; Experience may be considered in combination with relevant education and training.
This person will have strong organizational, interpersonal and management skills; comprehensive knowledge of hospice/palliative care; experience in grief counselling and a keen interest in and experience with training and supporting volunteers.
