In her 16 years as Executive Director of the Comox Valley Hospice Society (CVHS) she made a remarkable contribution to the field. The Terri Odeneal Education Fund was created in honour of her retirement from CVHS and provides annual financial assistance for volunteers wanting to participate in online training, workshops, seminars and other opportunities that further advance their ability to care for our clients.

Comox Valley Hospice Society helps people young and old, from all walks of life to come to terms with death and dying. The diagnosis of a life-limiting illness or the loss of a loved one often comes unannounced, disrupting the usual routines of life and shifting priorities. Our counsellors and volunteers are trained to help the dying live life to the fullest during the final stage of life. Our goal is promote dignity for the dying, to ensure they are comfortable and able to participate fully in decisions that affect them whether that happens in a hospice, a hospital or care facility, or at home. Charitable donations fund 70% of our annual operating budget, allowing to us offer counselling, companionship, support groups and resources at no cost to individuals and families in the Comox Valley.
