Death Cafe events are held the world over in communities just like ours. People from all walks of life gather to have candid conversations about death and dying, in a casual cafe setting. These discussion groups (not support groups) are participant-led on the theme of death, and have no agenda or affiliation. The goal is to co-create a safe space where people feel more comfortable talking about death, an experience we all share. No registration is required.
What to expect: Coffee, tea and light refreshments are available free of charge (although donation toward costs are welcome). Find a table where you’d like to sit and begin your conversation. The evening is divided into two parts, so you can change it up by choosing another table and see where a new conversation takes you.
These discussions are held on the 3rd Wednesday of each month from 6:30-8:30pm at Piercy’s Mount Washington Funeral Home at 440 England Ave. in Courtenay.
