Patricia Foster has lived in the Comox Valley since 1978, raising her family here and finishing her career as a nurse in 2019. 

Her nursing career spanned 46 years:  nurse practitioner in First Nations communities; continuing care case manager, supporting seniors; clinical nurse specialist in geriatric rehab and private practice (continence specialty); educator; staff nurse and manager in a primary health care setting (Comox Valley Nursing Centre).  

In the past, Patricia has served on a number of Boards:  Registered Nursing Association;  McLoughlin Garden Society; and CV Division of Family Practice.  Currently she is the secretary on the CV Horticultural Society Board.

Clinical Ethics has been an important part of her career, both teaching at North Island College and her work with Community Living BC and Island Health.  End-of-life care requires a relational ethics lens that is sustained by compassion for others and ourselves.
