Patricia Korven is a retired social worker who joined the CVHS Board in September 2020. She began her social work career in Winnipeg, MB in 1982. She and her husband moved to BC in 1988 where she worked for the Ministry for Children and Families (MCFD). She spent the first 18 years of her career with MCFD conducting front line child protection social work and the final ten as a Child Protection Analyst, reviewing and commenting on social work practice.

Patti says that participating as a member of the CVHS Board has provided her with an opportunity to remain involved in the provision of service to a population that benefits greatly from specialized care and support. End of life care provided in private homes allows patients to remain in a place that is of the most comfort to them. Whether care is provided at home or on the hospice site, specialized hospice services free up acute care beds for people whose needs can only be met in acute care facilities. Patti finds it greatly rewarding to participate on a Board that provides such a necessary and fiscally responsible service to our community.
