Heather Smith-Guinan is retired, and a proud mom of five and grandmother of nine, with a heart rooted in family and community. After 43 years of marriage, she experienced the loss of her husband to cancer during the pandemic. Volunteering has always been an important part of her life, and her journey through grief has given her a deep appreciation for the work of hospice. A few years later, Heather met a wonderful man, and together they moved to Vancouver Island to start a new chapter. She is grateful for the chance to serve on the Board and to help support families in the Comox Valley through some of life’s most tender moments.
